Our client is looking for an experienced sales manager to lead their successful team at their site in Southampton. The site in question has excellent footfall and enquiry rate and would be well suited to a hands-on and hungry sales professional with previous management experience and a positive can-do attitude!

Candidate Responsibilities

Setting and achieving performance targets for sales, efficiency and quality in line with the company’s overall plan

Creating a sense of urgency within the sales team by building an energetic and engaging sales floor and culture

Lead from the front by demonstrating the company sales process in front of colleagues to highlight what good looks like

Understand and buy into the overall aims and objectives of the company and providing clear communications to your team
Reporting business critical sales data to the management team on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

Ability to interpret data, spot trends and put in place action plans to remedy short falls

Developing sales team members in line with their personal development plans and performance reviews – utilising call recording sessions, internal training and one to one session

Utilising company led incentive programmes to maintain high motivation and target achievement within the team

Learning, retaining and coaching sales staff on detailed product knowledge

Presenting new products and process to staff and ensuring all sales staff are always fully trained

Succession planning, recruitment, development and staff retention of the team to ensure that both manpower and productivity targets are met
Planning of holidays and managing periods of absence and sickness to ensure the business is not affected

Candidate Requirements

A minimum of 2 years Sales Management experience

A proven track record in delivering against personal and team objectives

Ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of performance management and sales management techniques

Hands on, positive and charismatic leadership approach

Strong communicator with the ability to influence others

An experienced coach and developer of people, leading from the front and demonstrating what good looks like

Intuitive and inquisitive approach with the ability to adapt accordingly and instinct to know what to do

A hunger and capacity to learn in a fast paced, regulated environment*
